For the 2016-17 school year, Exceptional SC funded all incumbents at the previous year’s level or 50% of verified tuition with no student receiving more than double the previous year’s award and not exceeding $10,000. Incumbent students who received $1,200 or less based on the previous year’s award were funded up to 25% of tuition. New students were funded at 15% of tuition.

For the 2017-18 school year,
If prior year’s scholarship is greater than or equal to 50% of tuition, then the year’s award is equal to the prior scholarship, capped at 100% of tuition or 10,000.

Else if prior year’s scholarship is greater than or equal to 25% of tuition, then the year’s award is equal to 50% of tuition, capped at 10,000.

Else if prior year’s scholarship is greater than $0, then the year’s award is equal to 25% of tuition, capped at 10,000.

Else if prior year’s scholarship is equal to 0 AND application submitted by 9/1, then the year’s award is equal to 25% of tuition, capped at 10,000.

Please note that the board reserves the right to change the funding formula each year. Also, while we try to apply this formula across the board, there may be situations due to changes in student circumstances or schools updating their tuition where this was not applied exactly.
